Connor~ Where art thou?

Being a parent is so hard to do and being a parent of a teenager even harder. I LOVE this kid to the Moon and back. It is my heartfelt prayers that he can make good choices. When he was little and I was pregnant , he would insist we hold hands while we fell asleep during our naps. He is my dear sweet son and I miss him greatly and it sucks practicing tough LOVE. I want him back, but I know he needs to stretch and grow. Hang in there son, I will hold your hand.

Love, Mom

I have a gift!

It was in a Sacramento, CA Walmart that I was reminded. It was December 22nd, while most people were rushing around for last minute Christmas needs/wants I met her. A lady standing in line at the cashier. Aline up that others passed up because it looked like it would be a long wait. Precious time they couldn't gamble with. We went to that line anyways, not really having anywhere to go but to settle in our motorhome for a sleep before we headed to San Diego the next day. I had grabbed a few more groceries and stood in line. I noticed this middle age lady had alot of little boy clothes. I commented on how someone was getting a new wardrobe. Two little boys in fact, because today they had arrived in her foster home with nothing. They had given her some Wal-Mart gift cards to get them what they needed. She wanted to make sure they were outfitted well. She explained that she had had her own children and loved working with youth in her job. She worked as a liason officer at the local high school and started as a foster mother recently. She already had 2 other foster boys and they had taken to her already. She was willing to help them visit their families and love them on a short term bases while their parents figured out their lives to get their children returned. Connor and Clara stood behind me taking it all in. She told me she might aswell use her GIFT God gave her to LOVE children because some people just can't do it. WOW! Was she my angel. Why was she giving me this message. My heart leaped when I remembered the last few months of disapointment. Disapointment in trying to share my gift and finding no answers and many rejections. She also explained that she was in the process of moving and dealing with all the stuff that comes along with that. As she finished up her purchase her gift cards didn't cover all of her bill. She was short $28.16.She still had moving bills to pay for in the morning. So she started going through her purchases to put something back, like I'm sure we have all done at least once in our life time. I quietly looked at my Christmas US money my mother in law had given us days before we left on our trip in my wallet. I also remembered that as a family we had committed to do a kind deed everyday on our trip down. I quickly gave the cashier the remaining amount as this lady surprisingly looked back at me, I winked and wished her a Merry Christmas. "Give those boys a big hug for me" I requested as she gratefully thanked me, said "God Bless" and headed out the store. Wow! I thought to myself; I just bought the best gift ever, I could buy for myself. To remember the gift I have and how much it is of worth to Heavenly Father, others and myself. To use it and remember that not everyone has the same gift. Thanks I needed that!

Our Love

This Kid amazes me!
I just LOVE him!
He has such a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He has given more Books of Mormon away in the last month than I have in the last decade.
He even found a dusty 20 year old gold embossed edtion that I was meant to give to my parents and gave it to them unannounced to his grandparents for Christmas.
Wow!
Thankyou for doing something I couldn't Brady!
He's full of faith and an incredible person.
He gave a copy to his friend Jonas. Jonas read it over Christmas break, prayed about it and knows of it's truth.

We Love this book. We all have our faiths and beliefs. We understand and respect how it all goes. However, in our home our family reads this book. It brings us insight, peace and understanding. We are Latter day saints and we believe in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. It works for us and our belief system. It helps us solve problems and draw closer to our Heavenly Father.
The spirit whispers to our hearts and it brings us JOY.
It has a power way beyond me and can change lives.
I am grateful for the presence of the Book of Mormon in our lives and for a son who knows
who knows it!
Aswell for his ability to cross boundries in his loving humble way and share his love for it with people he LOVES.

you have lived that is to have succeeded

To laugh often and love much;to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children,to earn the approbation of honest critics;to appreciate beauty;to give of one's self,to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child,a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation;to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived that is to have succeeded
